About Me

Natasha Allen-Hallyburton IBCLC

Professional Experience

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Breastfeeding Counselling, supporting thousands of families since 2003.  Along with my lactation qualifications and experience, as an early childhood educator, I also have a sound understanding of infant growth, behaviour, and development (physical, cognitive, social, and emotional). I can help you learn to interpret, understand and respond to your baby’s cues.

Practical knowledge of normal baby behaviour and biological needs will help you to understand what everyday life as a new parent might look like. Together we can plan strategies for coping with the challenges that may accompany the arrival of your new baby.

My support for you doesn’t stop as your baby grows. I am experienced and trained in helping you with your older baby, and throughout the childhood years and beyond.

Personal Experience

Having breastfed three beautiful babies of my own, I know only too well how emotional, challenging and exhausting life as a new parent can be. The many feeding, sleep, and other challenges I faced in my own motherhood journey give me great empathy for whatever you might be experiencing.

As a new mother of three babies myself I encountered many breastfeeding problems including breastfeeding through illness and hospitalisation, breastfeeding a premature baby, oversupply, low suppy, breast refusal, failure to thrive, milk blebs, engorgement, blocked ducts.  However, with the right support and information I was able to overcome all these hurdles and continue to breastfeed my babies for as long as I wanted.

I also encountered other issues such as postpartum depression and anxiety, undiagnosed (at the time) ADHD, isolation, parenting with little practical support and feeding and parenting what turned out to be neurodivergent babies and children.

My first-hand mothering experiences give me the knowledge of just how empowering the right information and support can be. My role is to provide correct, evidence based information and gentle, caring, non-judgemental support as you navigate this special and intense phase of life. As you move beyond this and into the ongoing parenting years, I am here to support you and your relationship with your child.

What I Can Offer You

I offer personalised, nurturing, skilled and knowledgeable support with everything from infant feeding, and early parenting, to parenting throughout the teenage years and beyond. My goal is to work with you to feel confident and empowered in your ability to nourish and nurture your child, to overcome any hurdles, and to experience the deep joy and fulfillment of a close and connected relationship with your little human.

My caring approach will create an environment that allows you to overcome your existing challenges and gain confidence in feeding and caring for your child.
